The EOTech Holographic Hybrid Sight I (HHS-I) is designed for close quarter combat enhancement, combining the EXPS3-4 Holographic Weapon Sight with a G33 3x switch-to-side magnifier. The hybrid sight combo allows for medium-distance targeting or surveillance positions to tight corridor or room clearing situations. A switch-to side (STS) mount easily disconnects the magnifier and base as necessary, making the HHS-I perfect for any shooter who may need to adapt to a variety of target ranges in an instant.
The EXPS3-4 is configured for AR-15/M4 carbines with a circle/dot reticle that includes three additional 1 MOA aiming dots, vertically aligned and calibrated specifically for the ballistic drop of .223 caliber ammunition. This reticle provides four aiming dots in total for target distances of 0-300m, 400m, 500m, and 600m. Even low-light areas can be managed efficiently as this holographic weapon sight offers wide field optical performance, superior light transmission, and night vision compatibility.

I love this set up. I accurately hit steel plates out to 250 yards with my Ruger SR556. The zoom is just right for my use and is wicked handy from 25 yards and out. Having the ability to flip the zoom out of the way is great for 2 and 3 gun. Also it sits at just the right height that my back up irons can be sewn through the glass without having to detach. That being said, when I do detach and then reattach later the site stays zeroed. Still using original battery after 8 months of heavy use.

Really disappointed with
Really disappointed with Eotech on this one. Right out of the boxthe XPS3-4 unit I received had a defective down arrow button (not operator error). Issues below:- the unit will not power on by pressing the down arrow- the brightness cannot be dimmed and the unit will not power down due to the down button not working.- I had to remove the battery every time to power it downI also own a 512 model and never had/have this issue. Initiated a return request and hopefully CTD squares me away. Eotech has such a reputation for reliability. Once again really disappointed this optic doesn't work properly. Last note: no issues with the G33 magnifier (works great).

I was originally looking
I was originally looking at an ACOG for long range accuracy when someone showed me the HHS-1. This this has everything you have come to expect from EOTech as far as short range, close quarters target acquisition and accuracy. Then you add the magnifier and you have easy ranging and targeting out to 600 yards. You can put a similar configuration together on your own, but it'll cost more.
