I like it, but it can get very hot
I had to put a forward grip on it due to the fact that it gets extremely hot when you put a lot of rounds through it quickly. If not for the heat issue, I would love everything about it.

I am a builder of costom
I am a builder of costom AR-Uppers. I have ordered & instailled about every Type, and Style of Ar Hand Guard there is.Diamond Head has recreated Eugine Stoners idea of the flat bottom hand guard. 'Bravo'The triangle shape fits the hand best & with less fatiege that other shaped guards. Further more the flat bottom provides a natural handrest or base no matter your shooting pisition.The bottom is smooth while the side corners are grooved to fit large fingers. There are a few sizes of add on pic-rails that mount at the 3-6 and 9 o'clock pisition. I used a flat table wheel sander to remove the two index tabs atop so it could mate with the mega billot slick side receiver. They were almost made for each other. The thick walls give it a strong gurthy feel. While it is just a bit heavy I don't mind. It is a heavy duty guard ready for actionThe four(4)stars is for not including any pic-rail mounts.The non indexing barrel nut requires a 1.25' open wrench to tighten. A peice of flat steel with a 1/2' cutout for a breaker bar or socket wrench.A 20.00 cresent wench had to be bougut. The issue of it breaking loose is a real problem. Yes a bit of non perminent Blue Glue will do. To remove it. I have always used a propaine torch to cook it off. They unscrew without a fuss. Diamond Head makes a 1/2x28 comp-break not seen much. It also has the triangle shape that really compliments the guard. A bit hard to find in this site. So call, Both are here, and priced low at the CTD. Over all I love its look,& feel. It has improved my follow up shoots with the better grip. Thanks Diamond Head. G. Harrington..

I built my ar 15 and coul
I built my ar 15 and couldn't decide on which forearm to choose, so many choices. But I decided to go with this one, and it was a great choice. Outstanding quality. But WARNING, if you have a billet upper receiver it may not fit because it has two tabs on the back of it to match up a forged upper, but you can just file them down and problem solved! I highly recommend this forearm.

I'll be honest, I took a gamble on this one. I had heard of Diamondhead before, but I have no prior experience with any of their products, namely their iron sights. Like most people I really don't have a lot of money to drop on a tube of aluminum, so I'm quite pleased that this handguard feels just as rock-solid as one made by Daniel Defense or Troy (and for half the price). It's very comfortable to hold and has lots of room for additional rails to be bolted on later. Another plus is that the handguard bolts directly to the included barrel nut, eliminating the need for gas tube indexing. Super easy to install and fits great over low-pro gas blocks. I suppose the barrel nut could potentially loosen over time, but as long as you use some loctite and don't torque it like a 5-year-old girl during installation, it should be fine. Still, I will definitely recommend this item to others.
