Retailers Prepare for Surge in Gun Demand if Obama is Re-Elected.
The Wall Street Journal reports that outdoors retailers have two plans for the winter hunting and holiday seasons: one if President Barack Obama is re-elected, and one if he isn’t. WSJ asked companies in the guns-and-ammo business how they are preparing if Mr. Obama wins a second term. Answer: They expect a surge in sales — the same as they saw after he was elected in 2008 — from buyers fearful the president would back policies to make buying a gun more difficult. If Republican challenger Mitt Romney wins, though, the chain plans to stock more items such as waterproof boots and camouflage hunting gear. Smith & Wesson Holding Corp., and Olin Corp., the maker of Winchester bullets, are just two companies WSJcited as anticipating another bump in sales this winter if President Obama is re-elected.

The RCX-1 Camera will now have an MSRP of $199.99, with the RCX-1 Kit at $229.99. The RCX-2 Camera will be $229.99 MSRP, with the RCX-2 Kit at $249.99. The “hub” of the system is the USB controller/viewer, which plugs into either a RCX-1 (eight megapixels) or RCX-2 (10 megapixels) camera. The controller/viewer has a three-inch display screen, and can be used to download and view images from the camera on the spot, eliminating the need to remove photo/SD cards and check them at another location. With the controller/viewer, users can also get real-time alignment of the camera’s view and instant access to all program settings, without opening the camera or removing it from the mount.
