  4. It would be nice if there were a FAQ or post or blog page somewhere on the site that told why CTD doesn’t ship firearms to CA. Thanks, Hal.

  6. Hello,

My name is Ben and I’m working with History to help spread the word about their new Civil War film, Gettysburg, produced by Ridley and Tony Scott.

I recently came across your site and I thought you might be interested in the film and potentially letting your readers know about it as well. Not a lot of people have heard about the film yet so we are really trying to raise awareness at the grassroots level. It airs on History Monday, May 30th, at 9pm and you can watch the trailer below where I’ve also included a brief summary of the program.

Lastly, if you are interested in posting I can offer you some items for your time as well as for your readers if you wanted to do a giveaway. I have logoed History t-shirts, notebooks, and Ogio messenger bags (happy to send you pics of these).

Thanks for your time and please let me know if you have any questions, need more material, or if you are interested in posting as we would really appreciate it.

    Best,
    Ben

  7. Ben,
Thank you for your interest in CheaperThanDirt.com as a marketing opportunity for your movie. As you are probably aware, we have a very strong web presence.
3.6 million visit our site each month; our Facebook page reaches over 250,000 impressions each day, and 80,000+ loyal customers place their orders with us every month for their shooting needs.

We would gladly promote the movie free of charge to all of our 6 million customers, and include a promo of your movie to the 1.8 million a week that receive our E-mail Blast.

But here’s the rub…the History Channel, through AETV, refuses to allow us to advertise our site on the History Channel’s popular shooting show “Top Shot.”
Every firearm, shooting accessory, and ammunition highlighted in the show is available on our site, yet AETV chooses to allow adult sex products and alcohol-distilled spirits to broadcast their commercials during the program and dismisses the Second Amendment of the Constitution; the right to keep and bear arms.

Quite frankly, you do not understand your audience. The American firearm owner is interested in the skill that is required to be the ultimate marksman. For them, the fabricated and manipulated drama is wasted airtime when all they want to see is who is truly the best shot.

Allow us to advertise on the History Channel and together we can build an audience of loyal shooters and viewers.

    Sincerely,
    Michael Tenny
